Guide for GTD newbies
We strongly recommend getting David Allen's book "Getting Things Done" and reading it. This is excellent, life organizing material.
Making it very simple and short:
-
Projects (we call them Cases in our app) are open loops or commitments that you have taken and need to resolve.
A case can be anything: friday presentation, hiring a secretary or getting your kids to summer camp.
Use top button to quickly add a case you have just commited to, and remember to clearly
specify the successfull outcome: when you will be able to mark it off as done.
-
Actions are the simple things you need to do.
Example: In order to get your kids to summer camp, you may need to:
- Surf web and check the prices
- Sit down with your kids and see where they want to go
- Buy a tent
- Make a reservation
- ...etc
When you add actions, make sure you link them to the case
- you will have a clear path when you open the case view.
